Dave Hill or Dave Saunders or Rudi whatever name you knew him by sadly passed away on 10 February 2013. Dave has been part of the fabric of the music scene in Portsmouth for as long that anyone cares can remember. He was into everything, all styles with a genuine interest from idea to completion. Whether it was electronic music, the works of the Beatles, thrash guitar or jazz noodlings. Dave had an opinion and an angle. Dave was a leading force in the Pompey techno music scene, a resident DJ at Vurt and Family. He and I (as Ian Void) fronted the legendary Geushky night together which ran for almost a decade, as well as releasing tracks under the Surefoot and Rudicanfail monikers. Dave went on to be an influential and eclectic member of the Portsmouth music community as a band manager, producer, tour manager, label boss, judge, general mentor and musician - if his work with Arachnotaur could be described as music in any way! Aside from the music Dave was one of the most loving and considerate people you could ever wish to meet. He was highly intelligent, well-read, opinionated but accommodating. He always had time to listen and more people than I would care to imagine would refer to him as a best friend. He will be missed terribly.
